Fall Start for Troop NC-613

September is here, and Troop NC-613 is getting ready to go into full swing for the school year. Our first full troop meeting of the year is on Monday, September 12, 2022.

We had a great time earlier this week at out annual family fun night and open house. We served most of 62 lbs of hot dogs, several hundred cookies, and more. More importantly, we enjoyed a great time of fellowship, with many new connections.

Even if you missed that event, there’s still plenty of opportunities to learn about our ministry and join the troop. We’ll have a lot of visitors at the first meeting, September 12, 2022, and signing up to visit then is a great way to get started with the troop. We welcome visitors at most meetings during the year.

Our Woodlands Trail program (K-5) is starting on their outdoor skills branch for the first several meetings. This popular branch includes topics such as fire safety, outdoor cooking, and orienteering this year. Our Navigators and Adventurers are working through the First Aid Trail Badge between planning their other activities. Both groups are continuing their respective Worthy Life devotional series.

The first big troop event is our fall troop campout in early October. All ages love this annual fall event.

As Committee Chair, Erich Fabricius provides overall supervision of the operations of the ministry. His family has been involved in the troop since 2015, and he has been part of Shepherd’s since 2008.
