First Annual Great Sled Race

Our Troop was invited to our NENC Area Winter Junction, which for 2022 was the First Annual Great Sled Race. What better to way to enjoy camping in the winter than a sled race? Now, we had no sled dogs, but we did have a large number of able-bodied trailmen. Our three patrols took turns hitching up to our new sled and pulling one of their patrol members on the sled around a one mile course in brisk near-freezing temperatures.

This race was an intense competition that resulted in a tie. Our Cobra patrol tied for first with the Lord’s Servants, a patrol from a neighoring troop.

The troop looks forward to taking their lessons from this event, improving the sled, and returning for next year's event.
