Membership Specialist

Troop NC-613 has traditionally rostered over 100 members. Our membership team works to provide a welcoming experience to prospective members, and provides service to members during ministry year. Successful work by the membership team will not only support membership growth, but retention and engagement.

Qualifications

• Christian age 21 or older
• Registered Adult (or eligible to be registered)
• Agree to the Shepherd's Church Volunteer Covenant and qualified for service

Core Duties

• Extend hospitality at meetings to new and prospective members.
• Assist with registration and on-boarding of new members.
• Assist Trail Guides with follow-up to absent members.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of troop activities to facilitate interaction with prospective members.
• Complete Peak 1 and Peak 2 trainings during first year of service.

Timing of Duties

• We have new members throughout the year. The Membership Team should be ready to assist with visits and enrollment matters at any meeting. This may be scheduled to an extent.

• Membership Specialists may be involved in follow-up with prospective or existing members outside of meetings. Membership Specialists will need to occasionally communicate by phone with these individuals during reasonable hours.

• Attendance at campouts and activities is not required, but may inform a practical understanding of the ministry's operations.
