Merchandise Specialist
Timely availability of relevant merchandise makes the troop experience smoother and more welcoming for members. Our basic expectation is have troop t-shirts available in a variety of sizes and have an inventory of needed handbooks. Opportunities exist to establish beneficial programs such as bulk ordering of uniforms, uniform swaps/lending, and creation of optional spiritware.
Qualifications
- Christian age 21 or older
- Registered Adult (or eligible to be registered)
- Agree to the Shepherd's Church Volunteer Covenant and qualified for service
Core Duties
- Facilitate the sale of merchandise to members.
- Maintain inventory records of salable items amongst the troop supplies, and coordinate ordering of additional items at appropriate times.
- Advise the troop committee on pricing and inventory decisions to be made.
- Coordinate uniform swaps and other reuse programs of the troop.
Additional Responsibilities
- Stay abreast of troop activities to facilitate optimal planning.
Timing of Duties

Most merchandise transactions will occur during the troop meetings. The Merchandise Specialist will either need to establish availability for these transactions, or coordinate with other volunteers to complete them.

The Merchandise Specialist may need to reconcile records or perform other tasks outside of meetings.

Attendance at campouts and activities is not required, but may inform a practical understanding of the ministry's operations.
