Big picture We are all stewards of something.

• Q: What would you do if you could be invisible, whenever you wanted?
• Q: Would you use your invisible power for good or for evil?
• Treading lightly is like being invisible. Wherever you go, you leave no trace of yourself. No one knows you were ever there. No trash, no broken things, no evidence you were there. You are invisible to them.
• The teaching verse is like treading lightly. It tells us that God requires us to be good stewards of what He has given us.
• We are all stewards of something, even kids are stewards because God expects everyone to be a steward of the earth.
• God has given us the earth and everything in it to rule over it (see Genesis). But ruling over it does not mean we abuse it, or abuse others. So, we have a responsibility to be good stewards of all His beautiful creation He has given us, so we can all enjoy the great outdoors and share in its beauty.
• The teaching verse also tells us that God trusts us. God gave us the earth because He trusts us to take care of it properly. Like a good father, our Heavenly Father wants to give us good things. He wants to trust us, but we also must be responsible for what He gives us.
• Lastly, the teaching verse tells us that God expects us to be faithful. By faithful, God means He expects us to obediently follow His commands. We are obedient to His commands when we do what He tells us to do. Doing what He tells us to do includes being a good steward of what He gives us.
• Being a good steward of God’s creation by treading lightly takes effort, but it is worth it.
• Treading lightly also means we care for other people. We are responsible to other people to take care of God’s creation so they can enjoy the world as much as we do. You’ll be glad you did!
